APRIL READS....Just a little late.

April was a pretty rough month for me.  More on that later.  However I did get 6 books in.  My favorite was definitely one I stumbled upon on FB 'Nine Month Contract' by Amy Daws.  Very cute.  

I also found 'Love & Chickens' recommended on one of the many chicken FB pages I am on.  It was very cute, well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.  

May is not starting very well book wise but I know I will catch up and hit that reading goal for the year.  One day at a time!

I guess I should go ahead and start this blog.  If anything to get my friends off my back.  I am almost four years into sharing my crazy chicken experiences on Facebook, and every post at least one friends says I need to start a blog, write it all down, extend past my social media.  The start of a new year is as good of a time to start as any.  I will start at the beginning of my chicken adventure and try not to ramble. Mental Health Awareness Month

I know I don't have many followers yet on this blog.  Those that do, I really appreciate you!  As do the chickens, ducklings, and now GOSLINGS!  Yes, we added two goslings near the end of March and BOTH fell in love with the gosling life so much we brought three more home last week.  However this blog post isn't about them.  Ya'll know I will have a huge blog post on those cuties soon.   Those that do read my blogs, I sincerely apologize for being absent the last month and a half/two months.  I promise it wasn't from laziness.  I do enjoy creating these blogs.  Of course I do....it means I get to talk about my favorite subjects- my chickens, my ducks, and reading.  This blog post isn't going to be as much fun but it will be informative. The Chicken With The Velociraptor Claw

If you are friends with me, are on my social media, a family member, or live locally, you have probably heard of our girl Chick Norris. She became a bit famous on my Facebook in her short life. Like I said in my previous blog post, she is the reason I have my Chick Packs.  I fell in love with a little yellow differently abled chick with a tiny velociraptor claw at my parents' house and knew I had to give her a good life.  I didn't know that in giving her a good life in her short time on earth (most people would have culled her), she was also giving me a good life too. Chick Norris, aka Chicky Bug, ChickaNorris, Badass, CN (as my momma called her), my A1 Egg Layer, our Garage Guard Chicken was a Cinnamon Queen who became the heart and soul of the Heishman Hen Farm.
